Here is a simple procedure to install various scripts that might need mysql database. These steps can be applied to almost any script like joomla, forums installation etc etc.
Login to Cpanel with your "cpanelusername" Click MySQL Databases On next screen it will say "Databases ::MySQL Databases" For MySQL Databases New Database: exampledatabase Enter the database name you want in that field. And hit Create Database button. Step 3. Go Back to MySQL Databases page and scroll to bottom where it says : MySQL Users Fill out the fields in : NewUser Username: exampleuser Password: somepassword And hit Create User Step 4. Go back to MySQL Databases and scroll to bottom again like in step 3. From dropdowns under "Add User To Database" Select the user you just created and select the database you created from dropdowns and hit "Submit" button. Step 5. On next page check on "All Privilages" check box. and hit the make Change button and you are done. Now go to any of your script installation page where it asks for various informations and fill accordingly : Database Type: mysql from options if offered. Hostname : localhost Username : cpanelusername_exampleuser Password : somepassword Database name : cpanelusername_exampledatabase Please note database name and database user name will be stripped so copy your information you see after Step 5 completion to a file and use those credentials accordingly. And you are all set. Will try to put images if required. Got questions let me know .Cheers
